MEET CHEF RICK
Executive Chef Rick Araujo joins Off The Rails with over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry and recently won the coveted “Golden Cleaver” Award at Chopped! Worcester 2019 and has been a finalist to the Worcester’s Best Chef Competition over the last few years.
The 37-year-old native of Southboro, MA was the executive chef at Civic Kitchen and Drink of Westboro and has also donned the apron at Lock 50 and VIA Italian Table of Worcester among other places.
Executive Chef Rick designed the Off The Rails menu through research and development to showcase southern comfort food in a scratch kitchen with locally and curated products and staff.
“There is a love story behind where southern food comes from along with a great history and tradition behind southern cuisine,” said Araujo. “We have created a diverse southern style menu that will showcase the southern vibe with a comforting feel. I look forward to meeting our guests and showing them a little bit of the south here in Worcester.”
Araujo received his culinary training from the Culinary Institute of America and his bachelor’s degree in Food Service Entrepreneurship from Johnson & Wales University.
